John Boyle was an alumnus of the University of Minnesota, graduating with a B.A. degree from the College of Science, Literature and the Arts in 1918. He was employed at the Minnesota Daily as the business manager from 1917-1918 and was secretary of Iron Wedge, a senior society at the University.
